Annual Report on Taff Davies (Captain) (Snooker-in-Confidence)

SubjectEffortAttainmentComments

DRESSYesNoHas perfected the "Worzel Gummage" look. Always keen to prove his colleagues are smarter than him.
THE BREAKNoYesThank goodness for Kit Kat. If he wasn't a chocoholic he would never have a break.
SAFETY PLAYAAHis safety play only lets him down when actually at the table.
ATTITUDEYesYesHis attitude can only be described as 'even'. Even if it was there anybody knowing the Anne Robinson view of the Welsh would only agree with her moderate views.
REFEREEINGNoNoHe's the only snooker referee who has a pocket full of yellow and red cards.
POTTINGAZShows too much emotion when he pots the occasional red.
BLACK BALL GAMESAZKnow's it's on the table and looking forward to scoring his first single 7 pointer.
PRACTICEAZMust stop using a pool table in an effort to improve his snooker game.
ETIQUETTEAZOnce he can spell "etiquette" he will then work on the practical.
LOYALTYAAThe most loyal member of the team who learnt his craft from the ships cat during National Service.

Overall Assessment
B
Tutor's Report.  Taff is a trier, in fact he is very very trying. If it wasn't for the fact that Taff's number one priority is to make everybody else look good he would have a hard time being a member of the Club, let alone Captain of the Team.

Annual Report on Barry Stirling (Snooker-in-Confidence)

SubjectEffortAttainmentComments

DRESSAABarry is a credit to the Club, always well turned out, he is always proud to state "I have just got home from work and leapt out of the bath, can I go on first or second".
THE BREAKBDTakes the initiative on the break, his coolness and long follow through usually puts his opposition in trouble.
SAFETY PLAYABThinks hard about safety play but seldom achieves it.
ATTITUDEABA great attitude to the game, one of the best loser's in the Club.
REFEREEINGCDReferees well when cornered.
POTTINGAA++Towards the end of the season Barry's long potting has been frightening.   Keep up the good work!
BLACK BALL GAMESCDBarry has usually sewn the game up or unstitched it, well before the question of black balls arrive.
PRACTICECCBarry's practice evolves around "fiver a corner" on Friday nights.   This scares off genuine practice candidates and only leads to negative safety play.
ETIQUETTEBCTop of the squad for this one, but must not except defeat too easily or nicely, should at least mentally threaten his opponent with a good kicking.
LOYALTYBAProud to have young Stirling in the squad his loyalty is unquestioned. He also has the knack of influencing others in the team, particularly his younger brother.

Overall Assessment
B
Tutor's Report.  A mature player with lots of confidence who has served his apprenticeship well.   His loyalty, bearing and outspoken sensible views makes him a prime candidate to take over the leadership of the squad next season.   Barry has the organisational skills and power of command which is ideal in a Captain.
